When accents collide.

Now then. Here’s a thing. A long time ago on Radio 4 I heard a programme about this very thing - sheltered, small communities on the East Coast of the US and Canada who’ve retained a bastardised version of the accents of their British forefathers. Apparently, Americans think this is hilarious, but to me it just sounds like a night in the Green Dragon in Bungay.

(Although apparently its Cornish, not East Anglian based.)
